Child Development Associate (CDA)
When you’re ready to show your competence as an early childhood professional, the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a great place to begin. Our instructors provide students with the latest in child development research, paired with “how to’s” that make application to the classroom a snap. Students leave our classes with completed resource files, 120 hours of training, and their formal observation finished. . . as a CDA Candidate who is ready to apply to the Council for Professional Recognition for their final assessment.
Receiving a CDA demonstrates a child care professional’s ability to meet the specific needs of children to nurture their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth in a child development framework. A CDA candidate would also demonstrate competence in her/his ability to meet the CDA Competency Goals through her/his work in a center-based, home visitor or family child care program. The Credential is awarded for three child care settings: 1) Center-based, for which Candidates receive endorsements to work with infants and toddlers or preschool children; 2) Family Child Care; and 3) Home Visitor.
When you join an Early Connections CDA class, you’ll receive expert instruction from start to finish, and be ready to apply to the Council for your certification, even if you haven’t taken a test since high school!!
